It's There. And Then It's Not
Bringing my hand towards the ever-sparkling jewel, I try holding it, only to find it disappear. The elusive jewel leaves the trap of my hand Every time I find it there. I try chasing it with all my might, But it would at times fade away from my sight. I know it's there, But then I know it's not. It took some time and a great deal of effort, To learn that certain things aren't worth The chase and the desire to achieve. That certain things just make us believe In the outer beauty; but we have been told: All that glitters is not gold. The extremely materialistic things we stress over Don't mean to bring our destination nearer. The happiness we chase is like the illusion, That I tried to chase It comes to us and then leaves, no matter what the reason.
